Success it seems came early for Don Gatlin! At the age of 12, this Norfolk Virginia native was already singing professionally. Don competed on TNN’s “You Can Be A Star” and won grand champion!   A pretty good start for Savannah Jack’s gregarious lead vocalist. Musical talent must be in the family genes, as Don and his brother recorded two albums for Epic records and received 7 nominations for “Duo of The Year.”

Growing up in Beaver Falls, PA, Don knew early on he wanted to write songs. Gatlin’s impressive discography includes tunes penned for Blake Shelton, Kenny Rogers, Collin Raye, Mark Wills, Lee Greenwood and many others. Don has written or co-written many of the upcoming singles for Savannah Jack. He remains devoted to the art of songwriting which is a gift to his many fans, as his lyrics are always entertaining.

Perhaps one of Don’s greatest assets is his charismatic personality. His quick wit and quirky sense of humor can prove to be quite infectious. His flirtatious and playful nature keep throngs of female fans looking forward to the next show! This front guy’s amazing ability to connect with the audience both on and off stage will prove to be a huge bonus for Savannah Jack.

You really can’t talk about Don Gatlin without discussing that voice of his. With a combination of rugged sultriness and pitch perfect tone, he has a sound so unique there’s no doubt who’s on the other end of that mic!  Don’s musical influences range from The Eagles to the Gatlin Brothers. At a recent show, one first time Savannah Jack listener drew a comparison between Don’s voice and Don Henley.

After getting to know Don, it’s apparent his heart is as big as his vocal chords. During a performance at the opening ceremonies of The Special Olympics a few years ago, Don was drawn to the unbelievable spirit of these athletes. It was a life changing experience for him. Combining his love for golf along with his admiration for this exceptional group of winners, Don established his annual golf tournament and charity weekend to support this cause. Throughout the event, which includes a dinner/concert, silent auction and of course the golf tournament, Gatlin raises thousands of dollars for the Special Olympics of Tennessee.
